How The Story Started
Nature provides me with peace, sustenance, and an overwhelming sense of wonder. It fulfills my existence. For these reasons, it is my mission to learn about and take care of the environment as much as possible.
For almost a decade, I have led a personal effort to advocate for the environment. This endeavor began with neighborhood litter sweeps which led to larger coastal cleanups, habitat restoration projects, and an overall effort to reduce the amount of waste I produce.
I believe in giving back what I take from the environment. Whether I’m taking photos, food, or happiness from my surroundings, it is my responsibility to give back through environmental stewardship.
When I first started the Whales, Trails, and Ales blog, my vision was to bring together fellow nature lovers and environmental advocates to make a difference in our local community. I wanted to cleanup local areas in need and then go have a beer somewhere. Though that vision has not changed, it is ever-evolving.
